Articles document the effects of surgically induced weight loss on obesity physiological, psychiatric and social co-morbidities. Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy publishes research that is related to chemistry, pharmacy and sustainability science in a forward oriented manner. It provides a unique forum for the publication of innovative research on the intersection of chemistry and pharmacy on the one hand and sustainability on the other hand. This includes contributions related to increasing sustainability of chemistry and pharmaceutical science and industries as well as increasing the sustainability along the life cycle of chemical and pharmaceutical products from resource related issues to the end of life of products. As an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary journal it accepts also contributions from humanities, social science, jurisprudence and economics as far as they are dealing with sustainability and are related to chemistry and pharmacy.

Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy is an international journal suitable for the publication of original communications as well as review articles. In this it has a wide general appeal and accepts the full spectrum of high quality manuscripts from short communications to extended research papers as well as review articles. Papers describing new concepts or contributing to a better understanding of concepts related to sustainable chemistry and pharmacy are highly welcome. Papers should be of originality, novelty and uniqueness. A short communication should present a novel finding that warrants immediate publication.

All manuscripts must be written so as to be widely accessible and understandable to interdisciplinary and trans disciplinary oriented readers without neglecting the disciplinary excellence and clearness.

Sustainable Chemistry and Pharmacy does not publish research associated with 'end-of-pipe' or remediation issues, if they are not clearly related to sustainability.

Letters to the editor and discussion papers are welcome in order to provide a forum for discussions on a high scientific level. Additionally, a news section provides an interesting variety of news, facts, forthcoming events and conferences as well as book reviews.

The world must move toward a more sustainable energy future, and the development of technologies that facilitate this for transport, heating, and power systems is crucial. This journal encourages papers on any aspect and scale of technologies for energy generation and/or utilization that decrease the impact of that production and use, from the laboratory to commercial applications. Papers on:•technology development/improvement,•integration,•regulation, standards and policy are within the scope of the journal, as well as case studies.Technology assessments estimating and discussing metrics such as scale of application,size and weight per unit of energy output, economics, efficiency, and state of technology development are particularly welcomed, for both individual or comparative systems.The main fields of focus are generation, storage, and conversion; energy efficiency and distribution; and policy and economics. Sustainable Energy, Grids and Networks (SEGAN)is an international peer-reviewed publication for theoretical and applied research dealing with energy, information grids and power networks, including smart grids from super to micro grid scales. SEGAN welcomes papers describing fundamental advances in mathematical, statistical or computational methods with application to power and energy systems, as well as papers on applications, computation and modeling in the areas of electrical and energy systems with coupled information and communication technologies.
